Fonepay is a QR-based payment solution designed for merchants, providing a convenient and secure method to receive payments from customers. Through Fonepay, mobile banking customers can effortlessly make payments by scanning QR codes at merchant outlets and on bills.

Fonepay functions as a merchant application and Mobile Point of Sale (POS) system, facilitating fast, secure, and dependable digital payment services.

• Instant payment notifications for customers and merchants
• Generation of two types of QR codes through the app:
  • Unique dynamic QR code for each transaction, with the merchant entering the amount
  • Generic static QR code that customers can scan to make payments

The process to accept payments via Fonepay is simple:

1. Customers select Fonepay on enabled bank apps
2. Customers scan the QR code using the app
3. Customers confirm the payment
4. Instant payment notifications are sent to both the customer and merchant upon successful transactions

Merchant Registration on Fonepay:

The merchant onboarding process encompasses sourcing, screening, setup, and activation of merchants. Acquirer banks facilitate this procedure and have the authority to approve or reject merchant applications based on provided information and compliance documents. Once approved, acquirer banks assume sole responsibility for transactions conducted by their associated merchants.

The steps to register as a merchant on Fonepay are as follows:

1. Download the Fonepay application
2. Click on "Register as Merchant"
3. Complete the "Know Your Merchant" form

*Note: Merchants are required to provide a valid email address and mobile number, as login credentials for the Fonepay Merchant App will be delivered to the specified address upon approval.
